If your CPU is fast enough, your computer will be fast enough. Upgrading from DDR3 to DDR4 will not only cost you the price of the RAM, but the motherboard and (most likely) the CPU as well. DDR3 modules can transfer data at a rate of 800–2133 MT/s using both rising and falling edges of a 400–1066 MHz I/O clock. ![]() ![]() This advantage is an enabling technology in DDR3’s transfer speed.
